495 Express Lanes Northern Extension Study Public Information Meeting

In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and 23 CFR Part 771, an Environmental Assessment (EA) will be prepared. VDOT is currently conducting environmental analyses and coordinating with regulatory agencies to obtain information about environmental resources in the vicinity of the project. When approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the EA will be made available for review and comment at a future public meeting.

Stop by between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to learn more about the project and discuss your questions with VDOT staff. A short presentation will begin at 7 p.m.

Review study information on the project website (495northernextension.org), at the public information meeting, or during business hours at VDOT’s Northern Virginia District Office at 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030. Please call ahead at 703-691-6715 or TTY/TDD 711 to ensure appropriate personnel are available to answer your questions.

495 Express Lanes Northern Extension Study Public Information Meeting

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) held a public information meeting on June 11, 2018 at Cooper Middle School in McLean, regarding plans to extend the I-495 Express Lanes by approximately three miles from the Dulles Toll Road interchange toward the Maryland line in the vicinity of the American Legion Bridge. The meeting was held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., and featured an open house period for the public to review displays and ask questions, followed by a presentation at 7 p.m., and a question-and-answer session.
